Lily Pad Lake Trail - Hiking in Silverthorne, Colorado

Lily Pad Lake Hike - Silverthorne Colorado

Last weekend we took a hike a with my sister, Serenity, on the Lily Pad Lakes Trail in Silverthorne Colorado.  The hike is approximately 3 miles round trip and is great for the entire family as this is a beginner hike.  We all decide to do the hike in flip flops and did just fine.  There are a few uphills and downhills but overall the trail is fairly flat.  The trail is cleary marked with signs along the way.

Within about 15 minutes of beginning the hike, you will come across the first lake.  It is very beautiful and has a serene river that flows right into the lake.  After taking a few moments at the lower lake the trail continues over a log bridge that has a strong stream flowing beneath it.  This is the longest stretch of the hike as it will take around 35 minutes to get to the upper lake on the Lily Pad Lake Trail.

Approximately 100 yards beyond the main Lily Pad Lake is another lake with the backdrop of Peak One in Frisco, Colorado - another gorgeous setting where many hikers and their dogs were enjoying the outdoors.  The hike took around 2 hours total and was a wonderful way to spend part of the afternoon in Summit County, Colorado.
