Conde Nast recently published an article touting 17 of the most beautiful towns in America. They hit the nail on the head when including our historical ski town of Breckenridge, Colorado in Summit County. Here is what they had to say:
“Unlike many ski towns that have a certain poured-concrete 1970s look to them, Breckenridge has lots of history, and actively works to preserve it. Gold was discovered here in 1859 and the mostly uninhabited village at the base of Breckenridge Mountain became a rough-and-tumble boomtown. That sensibility endures in its downtown: Many of the buildings of the pioneer era are preserved—many are now home to local boutiques, galleries, and restaurants—and beloved. Now a popular ski resort (including cross-country skiing and snowboarding) Breckenridge is, of course, a prime winter destination, but the “off” seasons are just as magical, and the town is host to great events like the Spring Beer Fest every April.
