KSMT's Locals' Day - Beachin' at the Basin

Summit County's last ski resort to be open every year, Arapahoe Basin presents Locals' Day at the Beach April 27, 2011. Sponsored by the local radio station KSMT and State Farm the day is full of fun events and possibly some amazing powder since it continues to snow! If you don't have a ski pass to Arapahoe Basin don't worry the cost for the day ticket has been reduced to $49 from the normal $69. You must pick up the local Summit Daily News for the coupon, which is valid only 4.27.11.
Events for Locals' Day:
8:30 - 9:30am: Register for the FREE State Farm Big Hit Big Air & Style Competition at KSMT's tent in the base area (lift ticket required to participate in the event)
10am - Noon: The Event begins while competitors compete for the top prize, $250 and gear from Nomis & Big Hit
Noon - 2pm: Enjoy the $8 barbeque special, watch the finals of the competition and enjoy entertainment by DJ DC.
1pm - Close: Live music in the base area by Erin Duvall and A Sight Unseen. There will be food and drink specials as well.

Silverthorne Recreation Beach Volleyball:
Teams of four can register from 8-10am in the base area for the tournament which runs from 11am - 4pm. Winners of this family-friendly event will win one month pass to the Silverthorne Recreation Center.
