DIY Wine Blending Classes in Breckenridge, Colorado

Looking for a fun new activity to do after looking at available properties for sale in Breckenridge, Colorado? Try a wine blending class at the new Continental Divide Winery. The winery was opened by two families who share a passion for winemaking. Jeffrey Maltzman and his wife Ana own 2 other successful wineries in California and decided to get into the winery business after they realized they enjoyed the industry as more than a hobby. They paired up with Kent Hutchinson and Angela Bryan from Boulder to make the Continental Divide Winery in Breckenridge a reality.
The winery features wines from both California and Colorado and has multiple locations in the area. The first location was opened in Alma in the summer of 2016, and another location is being built in Fairplay to act as the main production facility. The latest addition is at Main Street Station in Breckenridge featuring a tasting room. Here, wine blending classes take place to help guests become educated about what they truly enjoy in the taste of wine.
The wine-blending classes are “like chemistry” according to the owners, and allow you to decide what you think tastes best together. Each class holds 16 participants and goes through the steps of smelling, tasting and identifying wine flavors. Eventually, each guest mix and rate their wines, creating aromatic and flavorful options. Once you’ve identified the wine you like the most, you create a bottle to take home with you, complete with a label and name.
